What types of Personal data may we collect?
In order to fulfil our service there are times where we will collect some types of personal data from you. Personal data refers to any data that can be used to identify a subject (a person), and there are different types of personal data that may be collected.
It is necessary lawful basis that we obtain certain information about you to complete a purchase. This includes:
Your full name, email address, your user name, payment details, your delivery address (or recipient's address if applicable).
There may be times where we collect usage data about you. This data refers to the ways you use and interact with our services. We may also collect technical data, which refers to the method in which you visit or use our services (for example, your IP address, the server and type of browser that you use, the version of browser plug in types, the location of this data and time, the system it is operated on and also the platform and other technology on the device you choose to interact with our services on.)
We do not currently collect email addresses or postal addresses for marketing purposes, as we do not have a newsletter or marketing email. Should this be a feature we use in the future, you will only be able to access this by specifically 'opting in' to be a recipient. You will never be added to a marketing list without expressing your consent prior to this.
Sensitive data refers to data such as physical or mental health, religious or philosophical views, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, trade union activities or any details about criminal offences.
On the occasion where you choose to share any information classified as sensitive data with us (for example, requesting a custom order where this information is relevant, e.g. Wedding Stationery or Christening Stationery), this information is collected for the intended purpose only, and is confidential between us and you.
After the purpose for which the data collected is no longer necessary, all correspondence which features this sensitive data will be deleted. This information that you choose to share with us is solely your choice.
A record of the process and payment of this order will still be stored for legal reasons.
We often use social media as a way of sharing the work we have created (for example, Wedding stationery designs and greeting card designs). Please let us know if you would be happy for us to share a custom order we have created for you. We will not share this work without your prior consent.
1. How will my data be collected?
A purchase made through Etsy
Every time you purchase a product through the Lauren Marie Studio (laurenmariestudioart) shop, certain pieces of your data are stored for necessary purposes.
For legal reasons, the Invoice produced after purchasing an item is stored by Lauren Marie Studio. The Invoice (which is generated by Etsy as a valid receipt of your purchase) is accessible via the Etsy dashboard, and an email copy is also sent to the seller (Lauren Marie Studio) and the buyer (the customer). The information on this invoice includes your full name, address, email address, payment type, and Etsy username. The invoice also may include any correspondence which you have shared, or we have shared in relation to the completion of the product, and recipients address, should this be applicable.
Please note, this policy refers to Lauren Marie Studio and is not in reference to the ways that Etsy stores your data. When you purchase from Lauren Marie Studio, you agree by Etsy's (www.etsy.com) rules and policies adhering to privacy and the storage and usage of your data.
you can find these details here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/legal/privacy
Any correspondence made between the buyer and Lauren Marie Studio prior to the processing of the order, will be deleted after the purpose of this correspondence is no longer necessary. This correspondence may still stay on record within an Etsy server and it is important to familiarise yourself with Etsy's data and privacy policies before signing up and confirming a purchase. We do not have control over the data that Etsy stores.
It is important to note that the interaction you express towards the Laurenmariestudioart Etsy shop is also retained for legitimate interests. This includes being able to view:
- The username of an account who has favourited an item
- The username of an account who has followed the Laurenmariestudioart page
- What search words customers are using to find Lauren Marie Studio products
- Location (county, town or country where visits from users have come from)
This information helps an Etsy Seller to see shop statistics and interest towards the products they sell.

An order placed not through Etsy (or an order requested through Email, or Craft Fair/Event/offline order)
For orders that are not placed online, an invoice is kept on record for 7 years, as a legal requirement for tax and accounting purposes. The invoice kept as a record is the same invoice that is sent to the buyer on receipt or billing of payment.
2. How will my data be stored?
Making sure your data is stored securely is important to us, and we have put appropriate measures in place to ensure this.
The data obtained from processing and fulfilling a transaction (name, address, email address, username, recipient's name and address) is included in the Etsy invoice, or an invoice that we create for a product that is not sold online.
Etsy invoices are stored on the Etsy server as a receipt for products purchased. Etsy also sends an invoice to the buyers email address and an email address for Lauren Marie Studio. Etsy uses SSL (secure socket layer technology) for processing payments. We have no access to this information and this information will not be stored by us.
The data collected will be stored for up to seven years, due to legal reasons (such as tax and audit purposes). The HMRC recommends storing tax return documents for at least five years.
Email queries that are submitted through the contact section of www.laurenmariestudio.co.uk are stored as an email on the WIX inbox, and an email is also sent through to a Lauren Marie Studio email. The information on this email is deleted after the purpose for which it has been obtained is no longer necessary, however your email address may be stored. We will not use your email address to send you marketing information.
There may be times where your data is stored securely using the iCloud or the Cloud services.
3. Will my data be shared with anyone else?
As previously stated, when you use and make a purchase through the Etsy service, you give consent for Etsy to store your data. An email that you have sent to us through the contact page on www.laurenmariestudio.co.uk will also be on the WIX server.
Aside from your use of the services that we sell and advertise through (Etsy, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, WIX) for which you give consent for these companies to store your data, there may be some circumstances where your data may be shared with third parties. These circumstances are limited and restricted. The reason for this will only be if it is required to fulfil the purpose for which we have obtained your data. For example:
Delivery purposes: If you have purchased a design to be received in the post, your full name and postal address may be shared with a delivery service to fulfil that purpose.
Design purposes: If you have purchased a personalised design that needs to be printed, the details featured on this design will be shared with a third party printing company that fulfils this purpose.
Accounting purposes: Any transactions made through Lauren Marie Studio must be disclosed by law for tax returns, and therefore this information may be shared with an accountant, book keeper and HMRC.
Lawful Purposes: We may collect, retain or share your data if we believe it is necessary to comply with laws, such as a government request or legal process, in order to investigate, prevent or address fraudulent or illegal activity, security and technical issues, and to protect the rights, safety and security of my customers.
4. How can I find out what data you store on me?
As a data subject you have a number of rights including a right to be forgotten, and a right to erasure. Should you wish to claim access to your data that we store, or to have your data deleted from our systems, you can contact us with such requests by emailing email@example.com, however we are able to charge an administration fee in certain circumstances, for example multiple requests for the same information.
5. Children's Data
6. Sending Data outside the European Economic Area
We will only send data outside of the European Economic Area ('EEA') to work with our agents and advisers who we use to deliver services to you or to comply with legal duty. If we do transfer data outside the EEA, we will make sure that this is protected in the same way as if it were being used inside the EEA. We will use one of the following safeguards to ensure that this is protected:
- Transfer the data to an non-EEA country which has privacy laws at least as protective as those within the EEA.
- Put in place a contract with the recipient of the data using EU model clauses which means the recipient must protect the data to the same standards as required within the EEA, or
- Rely on a pre-agreed Privacy mechanism such as the EU/US Privacy Shield agreement.
7. In the event of a data breach
We take appropriate measures to ensure that your data is safe, secure and stored appropriately, and that access to this data is strictly limited by any third parties.
In the event of a data breach, we have put appropriate measures in place to deal with this issue. If the security of your data is ever compromised, we will notify you and an applicable regulator of a security breach of this within 72 hours, via this privacy document. Whilst we do not use your email for marketing purposes, if you have supplied your email to us, if your data has been subject to a security breach, we may use this to notify you.

Terms and Conditions
Custom/Commissioned Design (including event stationery)
The terms and conditions below are in reference to Lauren Marie Studio, who are referred to as we, us or our in the policy. We reserve the right to make changes or amend these terms and conditions at any time. A full copy of these terms and conditions can be found at www.laurenmariestudio.co.uk
For custom orders, payment is to be made in by bank transfer, for which the details will be provided at the time of booking.
As standard, for custom orders which require printing a payment of 50% of the total fee is required at the time of booking to secure the artwork. Upon completion of the design, a watermarked jpg. will be shared with you for approval. Once approved, the remaining 50% of the total fee will be required. Once a receipt of the payment has been cleared, the final artwork will be sent to print. The design will not be sent to print unless full payment has been cleared.
For custom orders where no printing is required (hand painted pieces or digital items), the payment for this service is required in full at the time of booking.
Without receipt of payment, your booking is not completed and the work on your design will not commence.
Items commissioned through my Etsy UK shop may be redirected to requesting a ‘custom order’, for which the payment will be required in full at the time of booking.
We ask you to supply us with all correct copy, wording and imagery you require for us to use, in order to complete our services. You must check that the content you provide to us is correct and accurate, we are not liable for any mistakes you make.
Approval of designs
When custom commissions are underway, we endeavour to share progress updates in the form of digital images on the design with you (if applicable).
For custom wedding stationery, three(3) design mock ups are included in the price at the time of booking. Should you require any additional design mock-ups (or more than one(1) revision to a selected mock-up) a design charge of £20 per hour will be applicable.
Please bear in mind that colours viewed on a computer screen and in physical print format may differ slightly. If you require a printed sample of a design mock-up, this can be arranged for an additional cost (dependent on printing).
Refunds and cancellations for printed items
Due to the nature of custom designs, once your design has commenced your 50% of the total fee paid at the time of booking becomes non refundable. If you choose to cancel your order after this point, your deposit is not refundable, no goods will be sent to you and you will not be required to pay the remainder of the bill. Once a design has been approved by you for print and the remainder of the bill payment has been cleared, if you choose to cancel your order, the full total is not refundable. This is due to your items being sent to print, and your order already completed.
Refunds and cancellations for items which are hand painted or digital:
Once payment has been received and the design stage has commenced, no refund will be given should you wish to cancel.
Postponement will act as a cancellation unless an agreement can be made in writing between us (Lauren Marie Studio) and you (the customer).
Delivery of goods
The estimated processing time for your order will be confirmed with you at the time of booking. Should there be any changes to this time, for reasons outside of our control, we will notify you at the earliest possible time.
Faults to the physical product
On the rare occasion that a fault may occur, which can happen, we will endeavour to do everything possible to resolve your problem. Upon arrival of your goods, you have 24 hours to notify us of any faults with the design or finished product. A notification after this time may hinder you from receiving replacement goods in adequate time, and goods may be subject to closer examination before agreeing a replacement.
Faults to the design
Upon completion of your design, you are sent a watermarked jpg. image of your design. At this point we recommend having your design checked by three(3) persons to closely examine the design and confirm that it is correct.
Once the design has been approved and payment has been cleared, any faults within the design that you discover after this point become your responsibility, and a redesign and reprinting charge may apply.
We, Lauren Marie Studio, are not liable for any loss or damage to your product once it has been dispatched. We accept no responsibility for any faults or damages to goods should be deem this to have been intentional or created by ‘adjusting’ the product we have provided. When you purchase content or designs by us, you become of the owner of the physical product sold to you, but not the design nor license to reproduce this design.
