You've probably stumbled across this blog in search of a unique idea for your wedding or event... and i'm hear to tell you that you are in the right place!
Live Illustration is such a unique sentimental option for personalising your wedding day, and I'm here to tell you how you can make the most of it! Live Illustration is one of the big wedding trends of 2024 and with an outcome so delightful, it's not hard to see why.
Before we jump into it, here's a recap: What is Live Illustration?
Live Illustration is the act of drawing, painting or otherwise creating art, live, at an event. Live illustration can be portraits of your guests that they can take home a moment, scene or scenery painted for you to cherish, or perhaps a blend of these. I offer them all!
So why do you need to make the most of it?
Well it's true to say, the art created on the day is created by human hands, and made with love. If you have a larger guest list, capacity needs to be considered, as well as making sure your guests feel totally involved.
Here are some top tips of mine, as professional working Illustrator offering Live Illustration, of how you can get the most out of the booking:
Placement- show it off! You've hired an illustrator to create unique art work on the day, make sure it's set up for all your guests to watch and enjoy.
Inform your guests- this is great one for any members of your wedding party to take charge of- spread the word so your guests get involved quickly!
Plan your timeframes so that you can have a reveal. This is personally one of my favourite parts of Live Illustration - feel free to ask me more about this when you enquire!
Have a studio time add-on. Whilst this is an investment, this offers all your guests portraits no matter how many guests you have! Your guests can pop up to my stand throughout the day and have their photo taken, and you can send their portrait in the post as a thank you. Such a sweet and sentimental way to thank your guests for coming! This also allows you to forgo favours!
Lastly- preservation! Keep your portraits out of light and away from extreme temperatures to keep them looking sweet and special for years to come. All moment illustrations in the Illustrate Your Day package have full professional framing and preservation in mind- we can also chat about this further!
I hope all of these notes are helpful, remember I am always happy to chat through any questions you have on a zoom call adter you enquire for your wedding and I've confirmed availablity! You can enquire for your wedding or event here. (Scroll down!)
